I'm an Aunt!!!

My brother Patrick and his wife Elise had their beautiful baby girl! C. R. was born March 4, 2014 at 10:00 p.m.. At 5lbs 11oz and 21in. long, she is just a little peanut! The whole gang went up to meet her that weekend. I wish they lived closer!! I'd like to take some new pictures of her! :)

C.R., 4 days. Jackson, 3 months.

How I Decorated For St. Valentine's Day

This year I decided I wanted to decorate for Valentine's Day. But at the same time I didn't want to go overboard and make the house look lovesick and tacky. So this what I did:
For my dinning room: I got a clear plastic table cover from Walmart for $5. I needed one anyway, so I thought this was just as good a time to get it as any. Then with some petals I got at Dollar tree, I scattered them underneath it. I also got a 16 pack of heart doilies and placed one in the center and put a candle on top that I already had.
The entryway:
I got the burlap at Marden's for $2.50, the petals from the Dollar Tree,
]
The flowers and vase from Dollar Tree. I already had the rocks from something else, but they came from Dollar Tree too.

The votive candle is from Walmart. I can't remember how much the box of them were, but not much.
Then I just put pictures up and a rose from when Jackson was born.
 More doilie use.

Easy Breakfast Hash

I made this on one of those 'what's for breakfast the day before groceries' kind of days. We thought it was pretty tasty, so now I make it often!

Ingredients:
*frozen Crispy Crowns
*Small onion
*A couple fresh mushrooms (or you could use canned)
*A few strips of bacon, a small ham steak, leftover beef steak or ham of some sort-pretty much a few morsels of any type of meat on hand. This is a great time to use up leftovers!
*Mozzarella cheese

Bake your crispy crowns according to directions. While they are baking, saute the onion and mushrooms in olive oil and cook the meat. If it is leftovers, then dice it and toss it in with the veggies to reheat.
Place crispy crowns in cereal bowls, meat and veggies over them, and top with mozzarella and enjoy! Like I said, easy to make and delicious!! Sometimes if we don't quite have enough of crispy crowns or veggies to make it a filling meal I will cook eggs and place one on top of each dish.

Words of Wisdom For a Fast-Paced World

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, that I had not lived."

I was saying

He can't stay cranky forever, right? Well he started screeching again. That leaves me here, holding him and feeding him a bottle with one hand and doing the chicken-peck typing with the other. When "daddy" gets home, "mommy" just might make herself scarce for a few minutes! Lol. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the little guy. But after three days of this, my back and shoulders really ache! (and my mind lol). I can't believe how fast he is growing though! His little fingers are getting chubby, and he has the cutest little pot-belly! Grampy Osgood calls him a little cusk (fish) on account of his belly. So cute!
He had his first full bath last week. He cried the whole time. He has had two since then, and really seemed to enjoy them, which made me happy! He didn't cry at all.

I've done some cooking on the wood cook stove lately. I still have yet to bake bread in it. I've finally put away the Christmas decorations, except the lights because Jackson likes them. I'd love to post more, but he is fussing again. Some time soon I will post something worthwhile, I hope. 'Til then, *see* you later!
