Crushed

We had a full Saturday last weekend. Firts we unloaded and stacked hay...

 What a goof
BigFoot came to Houlton so after barn chores we loaded up the boys and headed out! It was such nice weather. The event was put on by Hogan Tire, and was free! Big Boy has a love for monster trucks, and has his own little collection he plays (and sleeps!) with. So we thought he would get a big kick out of it.

And boy did he ever! Just look at his face!

They had a car show and craft fair too! Love the tractors!
I am a sucker for antique cars and trucks. I don't know all the years/models but LOVE the looks! My dream truck is actually a 1947 Ford pickup with wood-lined bed and white wall tires-gotta be forest green too!
 Check out all these beauties!

 Loving this one!

Little boy loved the free hotdogs!
 Lunch time!

We thought he might be scared because the trucks are loud. But he wasn't, he actually cried when it was over and wanted more!

Here is a clip of the action. Sorry it's not much, the batteries in the camera died and I forgot to bring spares! I was able to squeeze a few more pictures out of them though.

After the show we stopped at Houlton Farms ice cream stand.
Zonked after a long, fun-filled day!
 Barely hanging in there!
My first Houlton farms ice cream (blueberry, of course!) Yummy!
After our ice creams we drove back home. It was a great fun-filled family day! Now I am going to start my Monday morning routine of "weekend catch-up" Lol. Hope you have a gudin!

Don't Forget To Remember...

If it's cute, write it down.
If it's funny, write it down.
If it's ordinary, dear to your heart, or made you smile, write it down. Remember the little things in life.
Remember how fresh, clean laundry smells off the line. Remember the chorus of crickets at night. Remember the children's silly antics, and what is like snuggling up with them on the couch to read ''just one more story" five stories after the "last one". Remember what made you fall in love with your husband, and how you used to whistle and sing while folding his laundry and picking things up that he left laying around-you always gave him the benefit of the doubt, and didn't take it personally.
Remember the good stuff, the fun stuff, and the hard stuff. Remember what is really important in this life; the people around you, the love you share for each other and the love you all share for Christ.
So don't forget to remember. You will be glad that you did.

Someone Wants A Snack

I took these pictures a few weeks ago, and am just now getting around to putting them on here! (At least, I don't think I've posted them yet....?!)

     Where did Little Boy go???

I wish I could do that!

He got the clothes pin off the fish crackers!
I think he just might want a snack. Maybe. LOL.
Pudding pot licker!
The remains of homemade butterscotch pudding....
Big Boy must have thought I was going to leave Little Boy out of all the fun, so he chased him down with a spoonful of pudding to make sure he got a taste too! So cute!

Catching Up And Run-Away Cattle

You know it's going to be a good day when...

Your neighbor drives up your 1/4 mile long driveway and knocks on your door at 7:30 a.m. to tell you that "Your cows are down there licking your mailbox."

Yup. Life is good.

Eva is such a nice neighbor. She is one of those folks who will help you out whatever that means. Even giving you the shirt off her back. She walked down to help me get them back to the house and her daughter Julia stayed in the house with the boys. We tried to get them to follow us with grain, but they thought green apples where much better. Not wanting her to be late for her daughters appointment, I thanked her and sent them on their way. I called my mother-in-love and she and Darlin's grandfather Mayland came over. Ma watched the boys while Gramp and I went after the steers.  They were half way up to our neighbors Wanda and John's house. Gramp dropped me off by the steers and drove up passed them and turned around. I got them started in the general direction with some grain and then Gramp used the truck to "push'' them back home. Once they were in the driveway and well on their way to the house I hopped back into the pickup. "Well," Gramp started chuckling, "that's the first time I've ever herded cattle with a pickup!."

One of my little bookworms. The boys love stories!

...And dirt!

This is what they were looking at. The chickens came right up to them! In the picture they are eating a handful of oats that I tossed out for them.
Uncle Jay cam to visit! The boys missed him and wanted to play with him all day!
Big Boy, trying out Daddy's shoes.
Looks like I'd better get to pickling, zucchini bread, and salad makin'!
Supper last night: Leftover Bunny noodles with bacon ends and pieces and steamed broccoli. Yummy!

Redneck Technology

Redneck Garmin:

Oh yeah! Anyone out there still use this good ol' method? LOL.
