Hey Y'all

I'm still kicking. Just been too busy with life to blog about it! We went to the Springfield Fair this year, Labor Day weekend. Have some pictures from that as well as a little video. Hope to put together a post on that soon for you. So, what's been going on? Well, this past Monday was our first day just staying home in about two weeks. I've been canning raspberry jam, blackberry jam, sweet mustard pickles, and have more goodies to can this weekend. Think I'll do pickled beets today.
I actually drummed up a 'new' basic routine/loose schedule that I'd like to implement (a post on that yet to come) but it is kinda hard impossible to do that when you're not HOME! What else, uh... Oh! Yeah, my Aunt Ginny made this hat per my request, I've always wanted one! I love it!
It is getting colder now. The leaves are starting to change, and it was 42 degrees out when I got up this A.M. Brrr. Looks like we will be checking chimneys this weekend so that we are ready for the occasional Autumn smudge. It is so funny how 42 degrees can feel so warm in Spring, yet so cold in Autumn!

Our Wolfriver apples are ripe now, gotta pick them this weekend. I hope to take some out to my Grampie, he said he wanted some earlier this year. We haven't yet sprayed the trees, I'm thinking we probably should do something next year. A lot of the apples get scabs on them and such. Some are really pretty, but not too many. I mainly just make canned apple pie filling with them and some apple sauce. The insides of the apples are just fine, so we peel them.

Been trying to get completely caught up on laundry for a while now. Usually when I get behind I get discouraged, then I don't want to do it, which just compounds the problem! My mother-in-love helped me fold and separate it all on Tuesday. So now I'm going to go put it all away before it gets undone. Hope you have a wonderful Thursday! Enjoy the crisp air! Maybe I'll make a black berry pie...
